Rivington and Blackrod High School and Sixth Form is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly motivated Pastoral Outreach Mentor to join our large pastoral team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to work closely with young people and their families to play a key role in supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Based across both our sites, as well as getting into our local community, this is a chance to make a real impact with select groups of students.

A core aspect of the role will be to build strong connections with students, families and staff alike. Students want somebody who understands them, the local area and acts with a sense of humour and genuine passion for helping young people. A team player who can collaborate and communicate effectively with all our pastoral team, you will be confident in your ability to make a difference. In addition, the successful candidate will take a proactive approach to promoting positive behaviour, improving attendance and punctuality, and fostering a culture of high expectations. Comfortable with going into the local community to visit families at home where necessary, as well as being adaptable to the demands of working in a high performing and fast paced school environment, you will play a key role in various aspects of school life.
