Pastoral Support Officer - 1 role at Ashbrook School, 1 role Holmwood School job summary

We are seeking two dedicated Pastoral Support Officers to work in our two schools, providing vital support to ensure every child feels safe, valued, and empowered to thrive. One will be based at Holmwood School and Nursery, and the other in Ashbrook school. This position is an afternoon role, from 12:45pm - 3:15pm Monday to Friday, term time only.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offer one-to-one and group support to children, addressing their emotional and social needs.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to promote a culture of care and inclusion.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to identify and support children facing challenges that may impact their learning or behaviour.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance children’s confidence, resilience, and well-being.
  • Support attendance initiatives and work proactively to address barriers to learning.
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure children and families receive appropriate support.
  • Support the medical needs of the children within school, including writing Health Care plans and keeping medical supplies up to date.
