What skills and experience we're looking for
We seek to appoint a Pastoral Support Worker to join our fantastic team of colleagues, primarily providing on the ground support to the pastoral team including all Senior Leadership Team links, Year Leaders, Assistant Year Leaders, Alternative Provision lead, Work Related learning Lead, our ELSA and School Counsellor.
Key duties will include:
- Providing pastoral assistance and support to all year groups throughout the school day, responding to their needs through the day, keeping all parts of the site clear and safe, and providing wellbeing support to anyone who is upset, in close liaison with the pastoral and senior leadership team.
- Monitoring and responding to all requests for support through the day.
- Preparing written and verbal correspondence with parents and carers.
- Undertaking day to day administration tasks for pupils including providing uniform passes, timetable printing etc.
- Responding to students as they arrive to the pastoral offices and aiding with requests.
- Aiding in the writing of and gathering of student and staff statements following incidents in school.
- Aiding with the administration for key activities for each year group such as transitions, choosing options and attending Prom.
Desirable skills and attributes:
Passionate about pastoral and well-being support for all students
Excellent communication skills
Good IT skills
Willingness to develop self via training in behaviour management, wellbeing and mental health support for young people
