Pastoral Year Leader job summary

We wish to recruit a hardworking and enthusiastic person to join our team of Pastoral Year Leaders, a key role at St Anne’s providing support to help students achieve their best in all aspects of their development. As Pastoral Year Leader, you will take responsibility for a specific year group, supporting students through the provision of high-quality pastoral care and education. You will develop a positive culture of achievement within your year group focussing proactively on progress, uniform, equipment, behaviour, attendance, punctuality, safeguarding and welfare.

You will have the ability to build strong professional working relationships with students, parents, carers and colleagues, think on your feet and be a good problem solver. You will be an excellent communicator, have sound analytical skills, be flexible in your approach and willing to do what it takes to help every student succeed.

The Pastoral Year Leader is a support staff role and we are looking for a start date as soon as possible.

We offer:

• an enthusiastic, hardworking and supportive team of staff and governors,
• a school committed to ‘success for all’,
• exciting opportunities for professional development within the Multi Academy Trust,
• excellent opportunities to develop professionally and grow into the role.

This is an exciting time for our school our staff: St Anne’s joined the Cranmer Education Trust in March 2021, which is a growing community of multi faith, multi-talented schools across North East Manchester. The Trust is led by The Blue Coat School – a nationally recognised outstanding secondary and National Teaching School, which also consists of Mayfield Primary School and St George’s Primary School, both Ofsted ‘good’ schools. In September 2021 the Trust opened the East Manchester Teaching Hub. The Trust will ensure that our schools continue to flourish and improve and provide enhanced opportunities for pupils and staff.

We work collaboratively, share good practice and have a Trust-wide approach to development. All schools are partners in Manchester Nexus, our SCITT. All schools bring their expertise to share. We need to make sure we have the right people in the right place doing the job that is needed to build excellent provision for our children and young people. Staff are supported and developed professionally to make sure they can do that and are valued and recognised for their work.
