What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a Sports Coach/specialist PE Higher Level Teaching Assistant to provide PPA cover at Harris Primary Academy Orpington.
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths – Grade C or above
- UKCC Level 2 Qualified (or higher) in any sport or appropriate equivalent qualification
- HLTA qualification
- Experience of delivering sport coaching sessions to young people aged between 5 and 11 in a school environment
- Knowledge of the PE National Curriculum and ability to deliver the curriculum through sport
- The ability to encourage and inspire young people through sport

Further details about the role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching primary-age children the PE curriculum, including dance and gymnastics
- Planning, preparing, delivering and assessing a range of CPD lessons, PPA cover, extra-curricular club sessions and other related programmes, all designed to enhance the school's PE and Sporting culture
- Ensuring all equipment associated with the PE session is correctly set up, maintained, stored and returned
- Establishing constructive relationships and communicating with external agencies
- Delivering agreed enrichment activities.
- Ensuring all students identified for support are given every opportunity to access the curriculum and agreeing how they will be supported in lessons
- Monitoring students in lessons, providing teachers with feedback on participation and progress
- Supporting identified students to engage with learning objectives
- Using behaviour management strategies to contribute to creating a purposeful learning environment
- Maintaining records of students' progress
- Contributing to evaluation, review and target setting of provision maps
- Supporting teachers in creating a positive learning environment
- Joining a curriculum team and being responsible for the leadership of PE and the organisation of resources linked to that team
- Supervising students as part of playground duties.

Harris Primary Academy Orpington is a two-form entry school which opened in September 2016 in Bromley.
