Who we are looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Peripatetic Music Teacher with a strong specialism in string instruments. The ideal candidate is an inspiring musician and educator who is confident teaching pupils of varying ages and abilities, both individually and in small groups.

You should be able to demonstrate high-level performance skills on at least one orchestral string instrument, alongside a solid understanding of technique, musicianship, and ensemble playing. We are looking for someone who can motivate students, nurture their progress, and contribute to a vibrant and inclusive music culture within the school.

The successful candidate will be flexible, organised, and committed to delivering high-quality lessons across a busy timetable. A passion for developing young musicians, excellent communication skills, and a warm, supportive teaching style are essential.

Charnwood College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, 11-18 academy with sixth form, situated in the west of Loughborough in Leicestershire. The academy is part of the David Ross Education Trust and is governed by a Local Governing Body.

The secondary academy has expressive arts facilities which include a dedicated music suite and dance and drama studio.
