We particularly welcome applicants who have interest and experience in musical theatre and non-classical musical styles, although the applicant may be required to teach in a number of different styles as appropriate.

Applicants will have:

  • A Music Degree / Diploma or relevant experience
  • Experience of teaching beginner vocalists to Grade 8 standard and beyond
  • Experience of preparing students for examinations
  • The ability to accompany their students in lessons from the piano
  • A good knowledge of vocal technique
  • A desire to work as part of an enthusiastic team and be actively involved in the wider musical life of the school

What the school offers its staff

Designated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in November 2022 and widely recognised as one of the top 100 state funded schools in the country.

The applicant would be joining a team of twenty-five other peripatetic staff including two singing teachers that teach in a classical idiom. There is a music administrator who will deal with timetables and payment. There are 10 weeks of lessons scheduled in the summer term and 11 weeks of lessons scheduled in the autumn term.
