Permanent Assistant Teacher / Learning Support Assistant - MFL and Maths job summary
Between 25 - 30 hours per week across 5 days (from 8.20 / 8.55am – 3.00pm / 3.30pm with unpaid breaks), 38 weeks per year (term time only)
To work as a member of the school’s SEND Team including the following responsibilities:
Establishing a supportive working relationship with students
Encouraging acceptance and integration of the student with additional needs
Developing methods of promoting and reinforcing students’ self-esteem
Assisting the SENDCO (and other professionals as appropriate) in the development of a suitable plan of support
Providing regular feedback about students to the teachers concerned and SENDCO
Contributing to reviews of student progress
Attending relevant training

We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher / Learning Support Assistant to join our fantastic SEND Team to support our MFL and Maths Departments. This would be an ideal opportunity to gain experience of working with students if you are interested in pursuing a career in education. The successful candidate will be someone who can work calmly and professionally with students to support them with their learning needs, and is confident working in a classroom setting. Some experience of working with young people of secondary school age is essential.
