Personal Care Assistant job summary
About the Role
Milton School is seeking a caring, reliable, and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to support pupils with personal care needs during the school day. This is a rewarding role where you will make a meaningful difference to a child’s comfort, dignity, and ability to access education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care support to pupils, including toileting, changing, and hygiene, in line with individual care plans
- Support pupils’ physical wellbeing while maintaining dignity, privacy, and respect
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and other professionals to ensure pupils’ needs are met
- Follow school policies on safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control
- Keep accurate records where required and communicate effectively with staff and parents/carers
About You
- A kind, patient, and compassionate approach
- Ability to work discreetly and professionally with children
- Willingness to undertake training in personal care, manual handling, and safeguarding
- Experience working with children or in a care setting is desirable but not essential
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
