Play Co-Ordinator job summary

Morley Memorial Primary School is embarking on an exciting journey to improve play for all of our children. Working in partnership with OPAL, we are looking to design a truly inclusive play experience, increase opportunities for child-led play and introduce appropriate risk and challenge to lunchtime play.

Salary Grade 3, £26,824-£28,142 per annum FTE. ( Actual salary will be pro-rata for term-time only, part-time working.)

The Play Co-ordinator is a pivotal role. As well as being part of a larger strategic OPAL working group the Play Co-ordinator will be responsible, along with a team of lunchtime staff, for ‘making it happen’ in the playground every day.

This role is as much about inclusion as it is about play so we are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys spending time with children helping them learn, grow and play

  • Has understanding and experience of supporting pupils with additional needs

  • Is committed to using research and evidence to drive the development of our play provision

  • Can inspire others to be passionate about inclusive play and act as a play advocate

  • Is a great team player, able to work with children, staff, parents and the whole school community

Visits to our site are warmly encouraged. Please contact the school office on office@morley.cambs.sch.uk to arrange an appointment.

The closing date for applications is 9am on Friday 20th March. Interviews will take place on Thursday 26th March. Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and we reserve the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.

Shortlisting will be based upon each applicant’s capacity to demonstrate how they meet the criteria.

Morley is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS check. The appointment will be subject to satisfactory references.
