Playworker (Darby’s - before and after school club) job summary

Dorridge Primary School, a large three form entry, community Primary school with a nursery, offers high quality wraparound care in a purpose-built provision, known as Darby’s. We would like to appoint dynamic, dedicated Playworkers to join our Before & After School Club provision.

We wish to appoint Playworkers to join the team at Darby's out of hours provision based at Dorridge Primary School.

Hours required: Tuesday and Thursday Teatimes (3.15pm-6pm)

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing a varied, stimulating and exciting range of activities that meet the children’s developmental needs.
  • Ensuring the facility is ready for use, by setting up and clearing away.
  • Working as part of a highly motivated and professional team.
  • Establishing positive relationships with children and their families
  • Working in close partnership with all school staff and support the whole school ethos
  • Safeguarding the children at all times while in our care

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • adhere to and promote all school policies
  • safeguard children and promote health and safety
  • promote good practise in a professional and inclusive manner
  • maintain a close liaison with class teachers in order to be aware of and respond appropriately to the needs of all children in your care
  • take responsibility for personal professional development, including participation in own annual appraisal, any necessary training, and keeping abreast of all current issues relating to providing this service
