The Personal Learning Centre (PLC):
The PLC is a small, dedicated classroom base designed to support students who are struggling in the main school setting. It provides a nurturing environment where students can access tailored interventions, curriculum support, and pastoral care. The PLC is led by a qualified teacher and supported by a team of HLTAs, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure student success.
About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate PLC Manager to lead our on-site Personal Learning Centre. This is a student-facing role that involves delivering aspects of the curriculum, managing a small team of HLTAs, and coordinating with school staff and external agencies. The ideal candidate will be flexible, resilient, and committed to supporting students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the PLC and lead the HLTA team.
- Deliver curriculum content and interventions tailored to individual student needs.
- Assess students and plan personalised programmes that may include in-school and off-site provision.
- Liaise with internal support systems (e.g., counsellors, mentors, Year Leaders) and external agencies.
- Promote the PLC across the school community, including staff, students, and parents.
- Lead curriculum development within the PLC.
- Maintain accurate records and share relevant information with stakeholders.
- Provide training and support to staff on working with students in the PLC.
