What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a well-qualified, energetic and enthusiastic KS5 Science Leader to join our ambitious and highly skilled science department. Applicants should have experience teaching science at KS5 and evidence of achieving good outcomes for students. The successful applicant will work with teachers of A-level Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Applied Sciences to improve progress and outcomes at KS5


Main duties and responsibilities

  • Working with KS5 teaching staff to improve progress and outcomes across the KS5 sciences, reporting to the Director of Science.
  • Collate, analyse and use data from weekly, termly and annual assessments to identify students and cohorts requiring intervention.
  • Work with KS5 teaching staff to implement intervention plans for students not making the required progress at KS5
  • Review the curriculum delivery and resources at KS5 to ensure the highest possible quality of teaching and learning is delivered, working with staff to improve this where required.
  • Plan and lead CPD specific to KS5 science teaching and learning.
  • Coordinate the monitoring of CPAC across A-level sciences.
