PPA Cover Teacher job summary
About this role
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join Rose Hill Primary School’s growing team in a varied and diverse role. We are looking for a highly-skilled teacher to work across our school, providing high-quality cover for our teaching team.
We would like to hear from teachers who are interested in a different working pattern to that of a Class Teacher, and for that reason are willing to negotiate on part-time working patterns of any sort.
We are also interested in hearing from teachers who have a particular subject specialism or passion at primary level - for example P.E. or Art - as this role could incorporate teaching of that subject across each Key Stage Phase.
What skills/experience are required
You must be an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher who really wants the best for the pupils in our school. Experience across the primary range is desirable, but we are also able to provide additional experiences and professional development for those who may not yet have experience across the full range.
What we can offer / about our school
Rose Hill Primary School is a really special place. It serves the community of Rose Hill in East Oxford, which is brilliantly diverse. Our school is inclusive and everybody is welcome here. Our school has a higher-than-average level of disadvantaged pupils and so we believe that our team of colleagues must be made up of the very best in all areas. We know that sometimes the school context presents challenges, but everybody here is valued for the work that they do and the contribution they make. We work closely with the River Learning Trust so that everybody can feel supported, and so that everybody has access to high-quality professional development opportunities. A new Headteacher started at the school in November 2024 and the whole school team are working closely together to drive up standards in all areas of school life.
This role is offered on a Full- time or Part- time basis, and is Fixed Term until August 2025 - with the possibility of the role becoming permanent after that date.
Education has the power to change lives, communities and society for the better. At RLT we believe that we can achieve more for our pupils, trainees, staff and communities by working together rather than alone. Schools in RLT are united by a common belief in the benefits of working together, and by our commitment to shared principles.
OUR VISION is for our schools and SCITT to improve rapidly, continuously and sustainably: to be better faster together.
OUR ‘WHY?’ is that children and young people ‘only get one go’ in school and therefore as part of RLT we aim to ensure the best possible ‘go’ for our pupils.
OUR ‘HOW?’ is through the highest support and challenge for our schools and each other, underpinned by our principles.
Our employees benefit from a wide variety of support including extensive continuing professional learning and development opportunities, wellbeing and staff networks and access to Defined Benefit Pension Schemes (TPS and LGPS) for all staff. For more information on what it is like to work for the Trust, and the benefits you could access, please see our “Working in RLT” guide.
This role includes regulated activity relevant to children.
If you would like to have a confidential conversation with Rhiannon Willkie, Headteacher, about the role, prior to application, then please email headteacher@rosehillprimary.org.
