Level 2 Pre-School Assistant

Payscale: Grade 2 Point 5 (FTE £23,500 per year, approx. £6372 Pro-rata)

Working 12 hours per week (Monday to Friday), 38 weeks per year plus 5 training days

Commencing: as soon as possible

Elm Primary School has an exciting opportunity for a committed Pre-School Assistant to work in the pre-school team to provide high quality practice and provision.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an individual who:

Has a childcare and education qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 2
A minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience working with children from 2 years
Experience in a pre-school/nursery setting and being a positive role model.
A sound knowledge of child development for children from birth to five years.
A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and the statutory requirements.
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Is enthusiastic, ambitious and serious about improving children’s life chances through education
Is highly organised, conscientious and able to set clear priorities when managing a busy workload
Can work cooperatively and communicate clearly with fellow colleagues, parents and pupils
Has a ‘can-do’ attitude and has the ability to use their initiative
Can work flexibly and professionally
