Pre-School Deputy Manager job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Early Years Team as a Deputy Pre-school Manager. Working closely with the Pre-school Manager, you will provide safe, high-quality education and care for early years children. You will be responsible for the leadership and management of SEND support in our pre-school. We have undertaken work to review and develop our pre-school and are looking for a forward thinking, enthusiastic team player to support our manager with the next steps in our journey.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least three years’ experience of working in an early years care
- Has proven knowledge of SEND support plans, preferably experience of completing SEND support plans and EHCHNA applications
- Has Level 3 early years’ education and childcare qualification or equivalent
- Is able to implement a pre-school curriculum, considering the SEN Code of Practice, child protection procedures and equal opportunities considerations.
- Will ensure that the welfare and safety of children is promoted within the setting and that any child protection concerns are always acted upon appropriately and immediately
- Understands and is able to implement inclusive practices into the setting, to ensure all children have the opportunity to learn, interact and fulfil their potential.
- Can create a safe, stimulating and welcoming environment which reflects and includes the individual needs and interests of all children.
- Can effectively deputise in the manager's absence
- Will ensure that staff are appropriately supported to carry out their role effectively

We are a two-site school in the market town of Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. We have over five hundred and sixty main school pupils in addition to those attending our Early Years provision which brings our total number to nearly seven hundred. We have one hundred and thirty staff across both sites.
We have a senior and middle leadership structure, providing opportunities for career development.
Our teachers have shared PPA on a Friday afternoon and come together across both sites for our staff meeting/Inset every Wednesday. We plan as a team across both sites.
