Premises Assistant job summary

We’re seeking a reliable, friendly, and hardworking Site Assistant who will help care for our beautiful school and grounds. This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail and practical skills will help ensure that our school remains a place where children love to learn and staff feel supported and valued.
About the Role- Hours: 30 hours per week
- Weeks: 41 weeks per year (39 during term time, plus 3 weeks across school holidays)
- Location: Barnehurst School
You’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the smooth running of our school, including:
- General porterage and cleaning duties
- Health and safety compliance checks
- Routine maintenance and DIY repairs across the site
We’re looking for someone who:
- Brings a positive, can-do attitude and a good sense of humour
- Is proactive, practical, and able to work independently using their own initiative
- Is flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the school
- Takes pride in their work and is committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
