Premises Officer – Part time, 30 hours per week, all year round

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Premises Team at Franklin Sixth Form College.

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and proactive Premises Officer to help maintain a safe, secure, and well-presented learning environment for students, staff and visitors.

In this key role, you will support the day-to-day operations of a busy college site, contributing to general maintenance, site safety, and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

• Security procedures such as unlocking, locking and key holding.

• Ensuring that the environment (internal and external) of all buildings, are safe, secure, well maintained and meet Health and Safety requirements.

• Facilitate the daily operation of college plant and services, including all utilities, to meet the needs of site users.

• Carry out internal / external repairs and maintenance, handy person duties, general joinery / painting skills to contribute to projects and minor works as appropriate.

• To attend training for the “First Aid at Work” certificate and provide effective First Aid as required.

• To ensure the college is always operational, especially during adverse weather conditions, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff, students and visitors to the college.

• Liaise with outside contractors and oversee maintenance work.

• Assist with grounds maintenance around the college grounds.

• The ability and willingness to drive the college minibus as required to support student or staff transport needs

Rolling 3-week Rota

Week 1 6:00am – 2.00pm

Week 2 10:30am – 6.30pm

Week 3 8:00am – 4pm

The salary range for this role is SFCA Support Staff pay points 5 to 8 (currently £24,191 to £25,330 FTE). As this role is part time (0.8108 FTE) 30 hours per week, the actual salary will be £19,614.32 to £20,537.84 per annum.
