Premises Operative job summary
Working Hours: 37 hours per week between the hours of 11am - 7pm, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will be flexible as these hours are subject to change.
Contract Type: all year round, permanent
Holiday allowance: 27 holidays per annum, rising to 30 with 5 years service.
As a Premises Operative, you will:
- Assist with the day-to-day cleaning, maintenance, and security of the school site
- Carry out routine repairs and general upkeep of buildings and grounds
- Support site operations, including opening and closing the premises
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and statutory checks
- Oversee contractors and assist with site set-up for events and lettings
This is a hands-on and varied role, ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys practical problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has good DIY and general maintenance skills
- Is reliable, adaptable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Takes pride in maintaining a safe and attractive school environment
- Is proactive and committed to supporting our school community
Experience in a similar facilities or site maintenance role is desirable but not essential — training will be provided for the right candidate.
