As a proud member of the Great Schools Trust, we are committed to delivering exceptional educational experiences within a warm, inclusive, and ambitious environment.

Our academy is a vibrant and diverse community where staff, pupils, and families work in partnership to ensure that every learner flourishes. We celebrate individuality, promote high expectations, and provide rich opportunities for personal and academic growth. At King's Lander, our values are not just words on a wall—they are lived every day through our curriculum, behaviour, and community engagement.

In our most recent Ofsted inspection on 23 June 2023, the school was rated 'Good' across all key areas, including leadership, early years provision, and overall effectiveness. This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to high educational standards and continuous improvement.

Our motto, Credmus Believe, underpins everything we do. We believe in our pupils, our staff and our community. Join us and be part of a team that’s shaping futures, every single day.

The Role:

As our Whole School PPA and Cover Teacher, you will enjoy a varied and rewarding role spanning Reception to Year 6, delivering high-quality teaching across the primary phase during teachers’ PPA time and staff absence. When not leading whole-class learning, you will work closely with pupils and colleagues to deliver targeted interventions and provide 1:1 support for children with Special Educational Needs. This is an excellent opportunity to make a broad impact across the school community while developing strong, nurturing relationships with pupils of all ages and abilities.

This role has arisen to support a valued colleague undertaking a secondment and will be offered on a fixed-term basis for one academic year, starting in September. For any ECTs, we will support you in completing part of your ECT induction whilst with us.

You will:

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching, with clear expectations and a passion for learning
  • Reflect on your practice and embrace feedback to develop professionally
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families
  • Be an active participant in our school’s wider life, including clubs, events, trips, and residentials
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, creativity, and shared success

What We Offer

  • A nurturing environment for ECTs and recently qualified teachers to grow and thrive
  • A culture of collaboration, innovation, and high expectations
  • Tailored professional development and access to a wider network of support through the Trust
  • Opportunities for early leadership responsibilities, curriculum development, or special projects
  • A strong emphasis on staff wellbeing and sustainable workloads
  • A warm, respectful, and values-driven school community
