Primary School Receptionist

Part time, 35 hours per week Mon-Fri 8.15am to 3.45pm. To commence as soon as possible.

We are looking to recruit a receptionist who will be the first point of contact and provide efficient administrative support to all staff. The successful candidate will have a calm and caring manner, and have the ability to manage a busy and varied workload. Have the ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing with accuracy in spelling, grammar and punctuation. Have excellent administrative, organisational and time management skills. Have experience of working with a wide range of ICT packages. Contribute to the hardworking, dedicated and caring ethos of the school and build positive relations with children, colleagues, parents and governors .

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a welcoming first point of contact, ensuring a positive experience for all visitors to the school, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Provide efficient administrative support to all staff, particularly the Principal and Senior Leadership Team
  • To accurately update and maintain the school database, ensuring all relevant documentation is uploaded
  • Communicate professionally with all stakeholders either in person or by telephone, email and text message
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents and pupils

Broadfield Primary School serves just under 400 pupils in the Hathershaw area of Oldham. We provide nursery education for pupils from 2 years of age. After working with partners in The Pinnacle Learning Trust for many years, the school joined the Trust on the 1st April 2023, a move which was very positively received by staff and the school’s local community. Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2018, Broadfield Primary School is oversubscribed and very well respected.
