Job summary

St Christopher’s Multi-Academy Trust is a family of 17 primary academies in Axminster, Beer, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay and Tavistock/West Devon. The schools within the Trust work as a community, within communities, to provide every pupil with a high quality, principled education. To support the ongoing focus in the Torbay area on KS1, we are keen to appoint a teacher who will make a positive impact on the school and continue to improve our standards.

PGCE - Qualified teacher

Qualified Teacher status
Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development

Essential skills and experience

Experience:
Successful experience of teaching KS1 with evidence of at least
good progress and achievement of pupils.
Experience of tailoring content and delivery to match the needs of
pupils and being reflective
Experience of teaching across the primary age range
Experience of building positive links with parents and the wider
community

Teaching and Learning:
Ability to deliver high quality teaching and learning requirements
(depth and breadth) that meets the needs of all learners and
enables at least good progress – stating any particular phases of
strengths
Sound pedagogical understanding of how children learn, including
effective teaching and behaviour management strategies
Highly effective behaviour and classroom management strategies
Ability to use a range of formative and summative assessment
strategies to inform planning and provision
A demonstrable commitment to inclusion
