Primary Teaching Assistant job summary

St Mark and All Saints C of E Primary School are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic Early Years Teaching Assistant to help children thrive in our setting. Whilst this post is ideally full-time we are willing to consider full or part-time hours for the right candidate.

An excellent opportunity to join our one form entry Primary school, which is part of The Good Shepherd Trust academy, within easy reach of Guildford and the A3.

St Mark and All Saints is set in extensive grounds, have well-resourced classrooms and a very supportive staff team. We have a purpose built Nursery unit for 2-4 years old - Hedgehogs Nursery - consisting of two classrooms which has its own amazing outdoor space as well as access to the full range of school grounds in a setting which overlooks our farm and Forest School.

The role will include responsibilities such as: supporting children’s learning and play, helping children with self-care and eating, supervising lunchtime modelling play and collaboration, preparing resources, completing clear and set up at the end of each session, consistently assisting the class teacher to support SEN children .

There is also the possibility of additional hours working in our Wraparound care Treetops from 3:30-6:15.

We are passionate about supporting and developing our own staff by offering further training, we will mentor you and provide opportunities for further development to help you realise your potential.

Salary: Grade B (£23606.00) FTE

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 32.5 hours per week term time only (8:30am - 3:30pm)- we are happy to consider part time candidates for this role

What we are looking for:

Experience in an Early Years setting working with 2-4 year old pupils or similar relevant experience

NVQ3 in Early Years childcare or similar childcare qualification

GCSE grades of at least ‘C’ in English and Maths

The ability to read and write fluently and confidence in Maths

Self-confidence and common sense

A good sense of humour and effective communication skills

Adaptability and enthusiasm

SEN experience (desirable but not essential)
