Principal job summary

Trustees are seeking to appoint a motivated, passionate and forward looking leader to continue South Axholme Academy's development and to help write the next chapter in its story. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to lead a highly successful academy, with an enviable reputation, as part of a small MAT.

South Axholme Academy is an oversubscribed 11 -16 secondary academy with 930 students. It has an excellent reputation locally and further afield as a school where students make outstanding progress both in their studies and in the wider curriculum. Everything it does is based on the South Axholme Mindset – Ready, Resilient, Respectful.

South Axholme Academy is part of Isle Education Trust, a small MAT in North Lincolnshire, which is shortly set to grow in size. The Trust is focussed on inspiring excellence and is an organisation where communities matter and individuals thrive.

The successful candidate will bring significant expertise and experience from a relevant education setting and a proven track record of positive impact in a variety of leadership roles. You will have experience of raising standards in teaching and learning, strategic planning, financial management and staff recruitment and development and understand the criticality of building school culture where all members of the school community can thrive. You will have exceptional communications skills, allowing you to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, governors, trustees and the Trust team as well as with key external stakeholders.

As a Principal working as part of Isle Education Trust, you will be part of the Trust’s Senior Leadership Team, and will work in a collaborative way with colleagues, offering support and bringing your experience and ideas – genuinely working together to improve our academies. This position offers incredible opportunities for your own leadership and development.

If you are looking for a leadership role, collaborating with a successful team that puts young people first, then this is the role for you.
