Your role:
As a Property Services Officer at Thomas Deacon Education Trust, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the security, functionality, and cleanliness of Gladstone Primary Academy’s premises. Your responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance checks, addressing repairs, and ensuring the school grounds are safe and presentable. You will also be responsible for opening and securing the school buildings, managing waste disposal, and supporting school events and activities.
To excel in this role, you should have experience in carrying out maintenance tasks and working in a similar role. A full clean driving license is essential, and a relevant maintenance or trade qualification is desirable. You should have a good understanding of health and safety regulations. You’ll have the opportunity to work independently, using your initiative to solve problems. Flexibility and the ability to work under pressure are key, as is the ability to use a range of DIY and maintenance tools.

The team works collaboratively across various locations within the Trust, providing essential services such as managing access, lighting, and heating systems, as well as offering porter services and handyperson skills. Their work is vital in supporting the educational mission of TDET by allowing educators to focus on teaching and learning.
By ensuring that the physical environment of the schools is well-maintained and conducive to learning, the Facilities Team significantly contributes to the overall success and well-being of the Trust's educational community.
