What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a committed, organised and compassionate Provision Lead for Communication & Interaction to play a key role in supporting students with additional needs across the school.

The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCo to identify students requiring communication and interaction support and coordinate a range of targeted interventions. This will include planning, delivering and reviewing interventions for Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Lego Therapy and other identified provision, as well as developing personalised targets informed by transition information, teacher feedback and external agency reports. The role will also involve the use of assessment tools such as the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), Boxall Profile and Communication People Assessments to support identification and monitoring of need.

You will be responsible for assessing and reviewing progress at regular 6-week intervals against personalised targets, tracking outcomes through Provision Map and adapting support to meet the evolving needs of students. The role will also involve liaising with parents to review provision and progress, working closely with the Specialist Teacher Advisory Service, and contributing towards Access Arrangement centre-based evidence files for relevant students.

The successful candidate will timetable intervention sessions, support and train staff in the delivery of interventions, and monitor the impact of provision across the school. You will also deliver small group INSET sessions for identified staff and continue to undertake classroom-based LSA duties as required by the SENDCo.

Applicants should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young people who may experience barriers to learning. Experience of working with students with SEND, particularly communication and interaction needs, is essential, alongside a proactive and reflective approach and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
