QTS GCSE Science Tutor – 0.2FTE, temporary role job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic GCSE Science Tutor (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics support as required) to support our students in achieving their full potential.

This role is for one day per week (0.2 FTE), temporary contract until May half term 2026.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and focused sessions to small groups, helping them build confidence and improve their understanding of the AQA GCSE Separate Science curriculum.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong subject knowledge across the AQA GCSE Science syllabus
  • Can inspire, motivate, and support students
  • Has teaching or tutoring experience at GCSE level
  • Is reliable, organised, and committed to student progress
  • Acts within the statutory frameworks, which set out professional duties and responsibilities and in line with the duties outlined in accordance with school policies, the current School Teachers - Pay and Conditions Document and Teacher Standards (2012)
  • Is responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
