RE Teacher job summary

The RE Teacher role at Seva School is a vital position focused on delivering outstanding teaching and fostering strong academic progress, personal development and wellbeing for all students. You will plan and deliver engaging, purposeful RE lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and examination requirements, ensuring that all students—whether SEN, EAL, more able or from diverse backgrounds are supported and challenged appropriately. You will maintain high expectations, strong behaviour routines and a calm classroom atmosphere, using effective strategies to inspire curiosity, deepen knowledge and cultivate enthusiasm for learning.

Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with colleagues to develop Schemes of Learning, share good practice and deliver consistent, high-quality provision. You will maintain accurate records, provide meaningful feedback, analyse assessment data and communicate confidently with parents and pastoral teams to support student progress. As a Form Tutor, you will also play a key role in pastoral care building positive relationships with students, delivering PSHE and ILP sessions, supporting attendance and behaviour expectations, and contributing to assemblies and the wider school community.

Safeguarding and inclusion are integral components of the post. You will uphold all school and statutory policies related to child protection, equality, health and safety, and the welfare of students. The role requires a reflective, proactive practitioner committed to ongoing professional development and contributing positively to the growth of a thriving, values‑driven school.
