What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic RE Teacher with TLR for Lead on Personal Development & Life. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to influence and strengthen Personal Development and Life curriculum provision in the academy. This post will provide strategic capacity to the academy. The successful candidate will continue to work as an outstanding teaching practitioner alongside leading and developing the Personal Development curriculum and its delivery via the tutor and assembly programmes, Life curriculum, subject delivery of elements such as e-safety through IT. The Lead will ensure the effective mapping, signposting and delivery of Personal Development to meet the RSHE Policy curriculum requirements alongside SMSC, Fundamental British Values, PSHE etc. as deemed appropriate by the Principal. This exciting role provides an opportunity to work with other Heads of Personal Development and Life across the whole Trust.

The Lead on Personal Development and Life has a remit focusing on consistent, shared best practice and high quality, personal development provision across the school. The successful candidate will provide regular communication, networking, guidance and checks to support the academy and those staff delivering aspects of the personal development curriculum in developing and driving the strategic vision for Personal Development and Life curriculum to ensure students are taught age appropriate knowledge to support their personal growth.

We are seeking an enthusiastic leader with drive, vision and commitment to Personal Development and Life curriculum excellence. The successful candidate will bring effective leadership expertise alongside a genuine belief in providing students with a rich curriculum offer which enhances student knowledge on personal development issues.Full time or part applications will be considered. An excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject is essential. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘students first’.

All staff are guaranteed a minimum of two hours CPD per week and a further comprehensive programme of professional development is provided through our own network of teaching schools. We have extensive involvement in the Yorkshire and the Humber Maths Hub and there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in the fantastic projects they run.

We are an 11-18 academy based just north of the large, friendly, South Yorkshire town of Doncaster.
