Reading Assistant job summary
Do you want to work as part of a team to provide excellent reading support, guidance and encouragement to students in an outstanding school?
We are looking for a hardworking, dynamic, reliable, Reading Assistant with excellent skills and a high level of personal drive. You will work with colleagues to have a positive, measurable impact on students’ reading achievement and progress. You will also be a key member of staff assisting in the promotion and development of an effective Learning Resource Centre, dedicated to promoting literacy and reading for pleasure.
The successful candidate will need to:
- Assist the Learning Resource Centre Manager in promoting and developing an effective and efficient Learning Resource Centre.
- Assist the Learning Resource Centre Manager in supporting the learning needs of students and the promotion of literacy and reading for pleasure.
- Provide reading support to students either in the classroom, 1:1 or in small groups outside the classroom.
- Support the delivery of literacy programmes with 1:1 or small group interventions.
