Receptionist and Administration Assistant
36.5 hours per week, term-time only (Monday to Friday)
Start time: 7:45am daily
City Road Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly organised, professional, and enthusiastic Receptionist and Administration Assistant to join our busy school office. This is a key front-facing role where you will be the first point of contact for visitors, pupils, staff, and parents, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school.
About the RoleIn this varied and fast-paced position, you will:
- Welcome and support visitors, pupils, and staff in a professional and friendly manner
- Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries with confidence and discretion
- Provide a wide range of administrative support to the school office
- Contribute to the efficient day-to-day operation of school systems and processes
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has a warm, approachable, and professional manner
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in all interactions
- Is highly organised, able to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines
- Has strong communication skills and can build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Is able to multitask and work flexibly in a busy school environment
- Takes ownership of tasks and works with initiative and accuracy
- A confident and friendly telephone manner, acting as the first point of contact for the school
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Office 365
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and under pressure
Some knowledge of school information management systems (e.g. Arbor, SIMS, or equivalent) would be advantageous.
