What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm and patient approach.
  • Experience in an administrative or receptionist role (experience in a school setting is an advantage but not essential).
  • Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office
  • A friendly and professional manner, with the ability to work in a team and use initiative.

Receptionist & Administrator – The Wymering School

Salary: Grade D, £24,790 – £25,584, actual salary for 37 hours per week, term time plus 1 weeks (40 weeks), £21,738-£22,435 plus generous sick pay and pension scheme

At the Wymering School our vision is to build a creative community which learns together to become knowledgeable, self aware, independent and happy people who make a positive difference, wherever life takes them. Sally, our Headteacher, is growing her amazing team and is currently looking for an organised, friendly and proactive individual.

As a Receptionist & Administrator, you will:

  • You will be the welcoming face of our school, the first point of contact for enquiries/visitors to the school
  • Provide a comprehensive reception service including answering phones, making calls, emails and managing general enquiries efficiently.
  • Provide high quality administrative support, including maintaining records, organising meetings, travel arrangements, and handling confidential information.
  • Support with attendance records, annual reviews, and data collection.
  • Assist with co-ordinating school events, communications and daily operational tasks.

The Wymering School is a Special Free School, an important part of the local community, which will cater for 66 children between 9 and 16 years of age who have an Education and Health Care Pl Our pupils have a social communication and interaction difficulties, associated Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties (a neurodiverse profile) and high levels of anxiety and / or associated challenging and distressed behaviour.
