Receptionist job summary

Nuneaton Academy is seeking a professional, friendly, and highly organised Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors. This is a busy and rewarding role at the heart of the school, requiring excellent communication skills, strong administrative ability, and a commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wider school community. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the reception area.

The Receptionist will manage the day-to-day running of a fast-paced school reception, greeting visitors, handling telephone enquiries, and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times. Responsibilities include managing visitor access via the gate intercom, coordinating appointments and meeting spaces, handling mail, maintaining records, and providing general administrative support.

The role also involves liaising with parents, staff, and senior leadership, supporting student processes such as signing out, and maintaining accurate student medical and administrative records. The ideal candidate will be organised, adaptable, and able to multitask effectively, delivering a high standard of customer service while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
