Are you passionate about helping young people make positive changes?

Do you want to make a meaningful impact in a school community by supporting students to reflect, reset and re-engage in their learning? Are you passionate about embodying the values of Aspire Care and Include in everything you do? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

The Romsey School is seeking a dedicated Reflection Intervention Leader to join our Student Support Team. This is a restorative role focused on helping students overcome behavioural challenges through structured intervention and positive relationships.

About the Role:

The Reflection Intervention Leader will take the lead in managing and running our Reflection Room – a calm, supportive environment where students can reflect on their behaviour and receive tailored intervention and learning. Working closely with the Progress Leaders and wider Student Support Team, you will provide 1:1 and group support to students who are struggling to engage positively in school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and run the daily operation of the Reflection Room, ensuring it is well-resourced and purposeful.
  • Provide behaviour interventions and emotional support to students using restorative approaches.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Help reintegrate students back into the classroom and promote long-term behaviour improvement.
  • Keep accurate records of interventions, attendance, and progress.
  • Contribute to a culture of high expectations and positive behaviour.
  • Support the on-call system and respond to behavioural incidents as needed.

Our Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bring experience of working in a pastoral or student support role (preferably in a school).
  • Be confident in dealing with challenging behaviour using restorative strategies.
  • Believe that every mistake is a stepping stone for young people to become their best selves.
  • Be well-organised, calm under pressure, and proactive.
  • Show a genuine commitment to the wellbeing and success of all students.
  • Be a team player with a collaborative approach.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Knowledge of SEND and strategies to support students with additional needs.
  • Experience using school systems for recording and monitoring behaviour.
  • Previous experience of delivering small group or 1:1 interventions.

Why Join Us?

At The Romsey School we believe every student deserves the chance to succeed. As part of our supportive and dynamic Student Support team, you will play a vital role in helping young people develop the tools and confidence they need to thrive. We are a forward-thinking school committed to restorative practices and inclusive education.

We Offer:

  • Access to high-quality CPD and professional learning, including The National College and our in-house Research Lead Team.
  • A caring and supportive staff environment.
  • Membership in staff-led groups such as:
    • Staff Wellbeing
    • Student Leadership
    • Extracurricular Clubs (including DofE, sports, and international trips to Kenya, Spain, Austria, and more)
  • Staff benefits including:
    • Generous pension contributions
    • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
    • Cycle to work scheme
    • Flu jabs and eye care vouchers
    • Discounted lunches from our excellent in-house kitchen
    • On-site, free staff parking
    • Discounted childcare at our on-site nursery, Little Sunlights
