Are you passionate about helping young people reflect on their behaviour and develop positive character traits?

Do you have the commitment, curiosity, and compassion to make a difference in their lives?

If so, Thomas Deacon Academy is looking for you!

Your role:

As a Reflection Room Officer, you will lead and manage the academy's Reflection Room, providing bespoke support to our secondary school students. Your role will be pivotal in helping students make better behavioural choices and develop positive character traits, making a lasting impact on their lives. Your role involves establishing and maintaining systems and routines that support reflective and restorative practices. You will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure students have access to appropriate work that supports their learning and helps repair damaged relationships. Your ability to defuse conflict, manage students in emotive states, and communicate effectively at all levels will be crucial. You will also be responsible for developing resources, maintaining accurate records, and presenting weekly summary reports.

You should have the confidence and courage to manage students, the courtesy to deal with staff and visitors efficiently, and the ability to adapt to new working practices. You also have experience of leading others. Experience working with young people and in a school environment is desirable.

We encourage applicants to visit the Academy. To arrange a visit, please contact the HR Team – hrteam@tdet.education. We look forward to welcoming you.

At Thomas Deacon Academy, we believe in the power of courtesy, commitment, compassion, courage, curiosity, and confidence. These values are at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for someone who embodies them in their work.
