The Academy
Ormiston Denes is a thriving and ambitious academy, rapidly moving towards Ofsted good. Our school values of aspiration, integrity and respect make our academy a welcoming and rewarding place to work. We now have a superb opportunity for a talented individual to further our inclusive approaches and shape our new Bridge provision, ensuring students receive effective targeted support to regulate behaviour and reintegrate into the main academy.
The Reflection Room
Reflection is a response to serious or repeated problems. The decision on whether to sanction a student in this way and for what period is taken by SLT or Pastoral Year Leads, Heads of Year, in consultation with the relevant Senior Leadership member of staff.
Students receiving this consequence have no contact with other students during the period in the Reflection Room. Their day begins at 8.45 am and ends at 3.50pm at the latest, depending on their behaviour during the day. They report to Reflection at the start of their day and are dismissed from this room at the end of the day.
They have one supervised break in the morning in the Reflection Room and are taken to the Dining Hall to get their lunch while other students are in lesson.
If a student fails to meet expectations in the Reflection Room, they are re-booked and must repeat the whole day
