Safeguarding and Mental Health Officer job summary

We are looking for an effective and highly organised Safeguarding & Mental Health Officer to assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) with safeguarding and child protection across the school (including online safety). To take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings and contribute to the assessment of children. You will also provide mental health support to our students to enable them to thrive in their education both socially and academically. To address the needs of our vulnerable students by delivering planned interventions/mentoring and responding to safeguarding incidents.

The successful candidate will:
Have experience of working in a similar role
Have a working knowledge of current safeguarding policies and practices including ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025’.
A calm approach and a particular awareness for the need for confidentiality around safeguarding matters
Be proficient in Microsoft Office
Have excellent interpersonal and administration skills
