Safeguarding Leader job summary

Woodfield Primary School is currently looking to recruit an outstanding, committed, and driven Safeguarding Leader.

The Safeguarding Leader will have experience in an education and/or safeguarding environment and be able to work as part of a dedicated team to ensure pupils' needs are met and families are well supported.

The successful candidate will need to be a flexible team player and have a passion for placing pupils at the heart of all decisions. They will also need the ability to provide exceptional support to the pastoral team.

It is essential that the successful candidate has an understanding of multi-agency working to impact positively on the outcomes for children, and also have a secure knowledge and understanding of SEND and the challenges that SEND children face.

We are looking for a Safeguarding Leader who will:

Maintain high levels of confidentiality in all matters

Use a relational, trauma informed approach when working with and supporting pupils

Support children to know that their wishes and views have been heard and valued

Develop strong working relationships with parents, whilst remaining able to hold them to account when necessary

Listen to staff’s safeguarding concerns and offer support on next steps

Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person

Be an emotionally available adult to support pupils, ensuring they are safe and ready to access learning
