What skills and experience we're looking for

St Teresa of Calcutta Academy Trust Central Team are currently seeking a Safeguarding Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi-academy trust.

This is a unique opportunity to take on a strategic and operational role that directly impacts the lives of children and young people – ensuring every school is confident, compliant and inspection ready.

As Safeguarding Officer, you will:

  • Lead safeguarding audits and action planning across Trust schools,
  • Deliver tailored briefings, and mock inspections,
  • Provide practice support for DSL’s, especially those new to the role,
  • Develop toolkits, resources and Trust-wide policies aligned with KCSIE and Ofsted,
  • Maintain clear records and contribute to Trust Board reporting.

We are seeking an individual who has:

  • Level 3 Safeguarding qualification or above
  • DSL training and experience in a safeguarding leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework
  • Confidence in managing cases and working with external partners
  • Experience in leading on complex safeguarding
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills
