Safeguarding Officer - Part-time job summary

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our safeguarding and student welfare team. This is a part‑time, flexible role, working 20 hours per week, term‑time plus an additional 2 weeks, making it ideal for candidates seeking a role that fits alongside other commitments while making a meaningful difference to young people’s lives.

Key Duties

Manage, record and investigate safeguarding concerns in line with statutory guidance, using CPOMS

Provide targeted support to students through interventions and regular welfare checks

Work closely with families and liaise with external agencies to support student wellbeing

Contribute to Early Help processes and multi‑agency meetings

Maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring safeguarding and compliance requirements are met

What We’re Looking For

Experience of working with vulnerable children or young people

Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities

Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships

Ability to manage a varied workload and handle sensitive information appropriately

GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
