We are now seeking to recruit an empathetic and ethical colleague to the post of Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officer. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience of working with disadvantaged or vulnerable young people, experience of safeguarding, and current knowledge of guidance and resources relating to welfare, mental health and the issues impacting on young people’s wellbeing.
As a Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officer, you will be a key member of the safeguarding team, responding to referrals, recording and investigating concerns raised by members of staff, students, parents or external agencies, and implementing and monitoring interventions for a caseload of students faced with welfare and wellbeing needs. You will contribute to the completion of risk assessments, communicate with colleagues to put in place effective transition and support plans, and triage and record child protection information and records. You will also promote safety and wellbeing throughout the college by contributing to staff training and development, facilitating student activities and engaging relevant support services, and by using college systems effectively to share clear and timely information with colleagues and our multi-agency partners. You will be required to deputise for the Safeguarding & Student Wellbeing Manager as required.
