Salary: BG12-13, N32-39 £42,839-£50,269 full time equivalent, depending on experience

Start Date: As soon as possible, ideally January 2026

Contract Type: Full time, all year round. Part-time working will be considered for the right candidate

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic School Business Manager (SBM) to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in the operational and business management of our school. This is a key position within the School Leadership Team (SLT) and involves collaborative working across the Trust’s Chief Financial and Operations Officer CFOO.

The SBM will lead the integration and alignment of school systems and resources, ensuring the effective management of people, finances, and facilities. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

Work across Trust schools as allocated by the CFOO, supporting for defined periods of time or with specified remits or projects. For example:

  • Model professional leadership and management of associate staff in partnership with teaching colleagues.
  • Promote a strong business ethos and ensure strategic use of resources to support learning objectives.
  • Oversee Human Resources, Finance, Premises, Facilities, Health & Safety, IT, Income Generation, and Administration (including Trips).
  • Work within TiLA structures and policies to support the designated school and collaborate with other SBMs across the Trust.
  • Support large-scale facilities projects in partnership with the Trust Estates Manager, including grant and bid applications.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and lead Trust-wide projects to enhance the impact of business management across schools.

  • Proven experience in school business management or a similar operational leadership role.
  • Strong financial acumen and HR management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams across multiple functions.
  • Commitment to the values and vision of the Trust.

Please note full-time site attendance is required of this position, with opportunities to work from home on project work after the probationary period.

You are required to have a full driving licence as you will be required to drive between the schools within our Trust.
