School Business Support Administrator job summary
You will be the first point of contact for the school, creating an excellent first impression, working closely with the Lead Teacher at the school. No two days are the same and you will be a vital part of the staff team. As the sole administrator at the school, you will work as part of, and benefit from the support of, the wider Federation administration team at our 5 other schools.
Working hours - Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 11.30am, 15 hours per week
Plus one inset day
The successful candidate will:
Support the vision and values of the Federation.
Ensure confidentiality, data protection and the safeguarding of children at all times.
Provide a high standard of administration support, adapting to the needs of the role to ensure the smooth day to day running of the school.
Undertake reception and telephone duties, dealing with any queries as necessary.
Receive visitors, ensuring that all necessary safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed.
Be confident to work unsupervised, using your own initiative, and being able to prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines.
Demonstrate that you are an organised person with good administration skills and attention to detail.
Be able to deal with changing and conflicting deadlines and frequent interruptions to work, being flexible and willing to help in every situation. supervision of staff and allocation of work
Communicate with parents/carers as required (including email, Parentmail and face to face).
Organise school trips, events and clubs and manage collection of payments.
The nature of this role often requires the ability to perform under pressure, particularly during peak times in the school year. Therefore, resilience and a sense of humour are important traits we seek in our candidates. You will be interacting with pupils, parents, and a range of professionals, which necessitates excellent communication skills.
Ideal candidates should have:
A firm working knowledge of SIMS and FMS school data and finance systems (training can be provided for the right candidate).
Attention to detail, excellent administrative, organisational and customer service skills.
Previous experience of working in a school office or education environment.
