Are you a hands‑on, organised, and proactive school facilities professional?

This is your opportunity to drive real change at Lift Firth Park. Our school is undergoing a transformational leadership journey, and we'd love you to be a central part of making our facilities a source of pride for staff, students, and the wider community.

About the Role

As our School Facilities Manager, you will ensure that every part of our site is clean, safe, and welcoming. You'll take ownership of daily maintenance, minor repairs, and coordinating with contractors-so our school environment reflects the renewed energy of our leadership team.

Your main responsibilities will include:

* Keeping the site tidy and fully functional day‑to‑day
* Conducting minor repairs and maintenance
* Managing and supervising contractors on site
* Supporting health and safety compliance, including risk assessments and record‑keeping
* Playing an active role in site security and access control
* Managing site resources, supplies and budgets with care and accuracy

Working Pattern

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 6:30am-2:30pm, 8am - 4pm(9-5 on arrangement) and 11:00am-7:00pm (alternating 3 weekly)

Flexibility may be required for occasional evening or weekend lettings and school events.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

* Has experience in facilities or site management, ideally in a school or similar setting
* Is confident with health and safety procedures and statutory compliance
* Can lead on minor repairs and day‑to‑day site tasks independently
* Is proactive, practical and calm under pressure
* Is a strong communicator who can collaborate across teams
* Brings pride and care to the physical learning environment

Relevant qualifications in facilities management or health and safety (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH) are desirable but not essential-we're more interested in your approach, attitude, and commitment.

While this position is advertised as School Caretaker to reach a wider audience, the formal job title and internal designation for this role will be School Facilities Manager.

We would warmly welcome visits to the school, please contact Nichola Butler - School Operations Manager.
