What skills and experience we're looking for
Outwood Academy Easingwold is looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and inspirational Classroom Supervisor/Cover Supervisor to join our Ofsted Outstanding Academy. Classroom Supervisor/Cover Supervisors work under the guidance of teaching staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement work programmes with individuals/groups in or out of the classroom including the supervision of whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers. You will cover lessons of any subject using the cover work set by the teacher, set high expectations to motivate and challenge students whilst managing behaviour effectively, and promoting a positive learning environment. In periods where cover is not required you will support in the classroom as directed or support on the student information desk on Reception.On occasions, the successful candidate may also be responsible for organising the daily cover rota for absent staff and contacting teaching supply agencies to arrange supply staff depending upon staff absences.
The post would ideally suit an individual either already experienced in cover supervision or with no experience in a school setting i.e you may be considering a teaching career, have experience of managing groups of secondary aged pupils: sports coaches, youth workers, guides and scouts etc. If you have the integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role (which has the added benefit of term time only working giving you the school holidays off) this is a fantastic opportunity for you to really make a difference to the lives of young people.
