About Us

Washwood Heath Nursery School is funded by the Local Authority. We are one of 27 Birmingham Local Authority Maintained Nursery Schools that promote quality and excellence for our youngest children in Birmingham.

We provide high-quality nursery education for 120 children, offering places to 2-, 3- and 4-year-olds.

Our Community

Our nursery is culturally rich and diverse, with many languages spoken by our children and families. We have a strong reputation for supporting children with complex special educational needs and disabilities, as well as families who may be experiencing additional challenges.

Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all children. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be subject to suitability checks including identity, qualification and employment history checks, and two professional references.

Who We Are Looking For

At Washwood Heath Nursery School, we are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable team player to join our dedicated staff team. The successful candidate will support the maintenance and cleanliness of our site, carrying out general cleaning duties to ensure the highest standards of hygiene, safety and presentation across the school.

You will be flexible, proactive and committed to upholding the school’s ethos while working as part of a supportive team. The role includes following all Health & Safety procedures, reporting hazards appropriately, and contributing to a safe environment for children, staff and visitors.

As part of the cleaning responsibilities, the successful candidate will be required to use cleaning products and chemicals safely and responsibly, in line with COSHH regulations. Training will be provided to ensure correct storage, handling and use of personal protective equipment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate responsibility, professionalism and a strong commitment to the nursery community.
