Vacancy for School Counsellor/Wellbeing Support

Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 8, Points 19-24

Hours: 37 hours p/w - 39 weeks p/y

We are looking for an enthusiastic person who would like to join our friendly and hardworking team as School Counsellor/Wellbeing Support. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a capable and nurturing counsellor who is able to provide high quality, valuable one-to-one counselling to our pupils and contribute to their continued development.

The Opportunity

  • Lead on all counselling services to pupils provided by the school.
  • Provide independent and confidential counselling service to pupils through individual sessions.
  • Promote a caring and supportive environment, support and advise vulnerable children and their families.
  • Promote mental and emotional health.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has a Level 3 or 4 qualification in counselling or Psychotherapy.
  • Is confident and resilient, patient and nurturing, and wants to help us to support our pupils to thrive and develop into successful young people.
  • Is interested in playing an active role in safeguarding children and adhering to our policies.
  • Can act on their own initiative.
  • Is motivated, passionate, and reflective about their work.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues.
