School Finance Lead job summary
We are looking for a Finance Lead who would like to join our dynamic and successful special school and be responsible for leading on the planning, implementation and control of the school’s financial processes, procedures, policies and overall financial position; someone who would like to be part of a friendly and hard-working team.
Oakleigh School and the Early Years Centre is located within the borough of Barnet. We are looking for a well-qualified and experienced candidate to join our staff team from May 2026, or earlier if possible.
Role Purpose
The Finance Lead plays a key role in ensuring the financial health, compliance, and long‑term sustainability of the school. The post holder oversees day‑to‑day financial operations, leads on budget planning and monitoring, and provides high‑quality financial advice and reporting to the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Governing Body and the Local Authority (LA).
The role also supports commissioned services, including the off‑site Acorn Nursery and the Early Years SEND Advisory Team (EYSAT).
