School Meals Supervisory Assistant (SMSA) job summary

Manor School provides an Ofsted-judged ‘Outstanding’ specialist learning environment for pupils with a wide range of special needs. We have a clear and strong vision of ‘love, learn, laugh’ which we achieve through creating a positive, engaging environment where all pupils can effectively learn.

Manor School is split across two sites in Brent and roles are available at both sites.

We are looking for someone:

  • To supervise children during the lunchtime break, this includes managing and supporting the children’s eating and play opportunities.
  • To work co-operatively and in close partnership with all SMSA and class based staff colleagues.

To be vigilant and alert to all aspects of health & safety and safeguarding during this time.

We are looking for:

  • Positive, energetic and nurturing SMSAs
  • Applicants who have a keen interest in special needs;
  • Candidates who are willing to support pupils with positively managing their behaviour
  • Experience or knowledge of autism and/or a range of learning needs and disabilities is an advantage.
  • Observant, conscientious and professional individuals who will prioritise the safety and well-being of all of our pupils by following all of our safeguarding processes
