School Meals Supervisory Assistant (SMSA) job summary
The Avenue School (rated OUTSTANDING by Ofsted in October 2023) is part of The Rise Partnership Trust, and committed to championing unique potential and pursuing excellence in all that we do by providing the most effective education, therapy, support, and provision for our pupils.
The Avenue School is a growing school, expanding to reach full capacity of 104 places serving the needs of pupils with autism and complex needs.
We have opened our brand new purpose-built site and will be expanding over three years to reach our capacity of 104 places, for pupils with autism and complex needs, eventually educating children from EYFS up to the age of 19.
We are looking for someone:
- To supervise children during the lunchtime break, this includes managing and supporting the children’s eating and play opportunities.
- To work co-operatively and in close partnership with all SMSA and class based staff colleagues.
To be vigilant and alert to all aspects of health & safety and safeguarding during this time.
We are looking for:
- Positive, energetic and nurturing SMSAs
- Applicants who have a keen interest in special needs;
- Candidates who are willing to support pupils with positively managing their behaviour
- Experience or knowledge of autism and/or a range of learning needs and disabilities is an advantage.
- Observant, conscientious and professional individuals who will prioritise the safety and well-being of all of our pupils by following all of our safeguarding processe
